This extension of the presumption is a result of the Blue Water Navy Vietnam Veterans Act of 2019, signed into law on June 25, 2019. The law takes effect January 1, 2020.\u00a0<span style=\"font-size: inherit;\">Veterans who can show they served within the 12 nautical miles seaward from the demarcation line of the waters of Vietnam and Cambodia between <\/span><strong style=\"font-size: inherit;\">January 9, 1962\u00a0and\u00a0May 7, 1975<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: inherit;\"> may be eligible for disability benefits.<\/span>  A survivor of a Veteran affected by this decision may also be entitled to certain survivor benefits.
